I received excellent care and guidance throughout my ACL and meniscus surgery journey. From the preparation phase to the recovery process, I felt fully supported with a clear plan and weekly progression.
Pain in your knee when climbing stairs, running, or after twisting it? We treat acute and chronic knee pain with targeted strength training and exercise therapy. For post-surgery recovery or meniscus and ACL injuries, we work alongside the orthopaedic surgeons at Xpert Clinics and OLVG.

Knee pain comes in different forms. In most cases we distinguish between acute and chronic symptoms.
Acute knee pain often comes with pain on bending or straightening the knee, swelling around the joint, and sometimes a warm sensation. It usually happens during or after a sports activity or an incident: a fall or a twist of the knee.
Chronic knee pain is present for a longer period and sometimes has no clear cause. Over time the knee can handle less load, which in turn can cause more pain.

At Movement Based Therapy, as the name suggests, we specialise in movement. Our treatment methods always have the same starting point: getting you back to pain-free movement through targeted exercise.
The treatment plan is always tailored to your needs and goals. We work towards autonomy: during the programme we also pass on knowledge, so if symptoms return you know exactly what to do to prevent them from getting worse.
Sometimes the knee complaint is so severe that surgery is required to restore the joint. At our practice we work closely with specialists at OLVG and Xpert Clinics.
This network allows us to work quickly and effectively across disciplines. We are also specialised in rehabilitation after surgery. Questions? Get in touch via the options below.

An overview of the most common knee conditions we treat.
Targeted strength training and exercise therapy as the foundation. Movement is your treatment, hands-on work creates the conditions for it.
Specialised in rehabilitation after knee surgery. Short lines with the orthopaedic surgeons at Xpert Clinics and OLVG.
Objective measurement of strength, mobility and capacity to handle load. We adjust based on data, not feel.
During your programme you learn how to manage recurring symptoms yourself. Knowledge as part of recovery.
Strength training under supervision in our own training space. No separate gym needed for your rehabilitation.
No, physiotherapy is directly accessible in the Netherlands. You can book an appointment without a referral. We carry out the screening during your intake and set up the treatment plan together.
We treat the full spectrum: from runner's knee and patellar tendinopathy to ACL rehabilitation, meniscus injuries, post-surgery recovery (knee replacement, arthroscopy) and chronic pain.
Acute symptoms come on suddenly, after a fall, sports incident or twist, with pain, swelling and sometimes warmth. Chronic symptoms are present for longer, often without a clear cause, and tend to come with reduced capacity to handle load.
Yes, we have short lines with the orthopaedic surgeons at OLVG and Xpert Clinics. For severe or unclear symptoms we can quickly switch to multidisciplinary care and refer on.
This depends on the nature of the condition. At the end of your intake we give you a realistic estimate of the treatment programme so you know what to expect.
This differs per condition. We work with objective return-to-sport criteria, not just pain-free but back at performance level. We measure strength and stability per phase before building up load.

Cedrine helped me enormously with my recovery from recurring knee complaints. Within a few months the strength difference between both legs was minimal.
I've been helped tremendously by multiple members of the team for various issues over the course of about a year now. Not all team members have been my PT, but I have met them all and they are all great.
