I received excellent care and guidance throughout my ACL and meniscus surgery journey. From the preparation phase to the recovery process, I felt fully supported with a clear plan and weekly progression.
At MBT we safeguard the quality of care by building a learning environment where there is trust that making mistakes is human and that you learn from them. We keep understanding each other by regularly discussing case work, and with weekly study hours we keep each other up to date on the topics that live in our practice.

Mistakes are part of the work. At MBT we build a culture where we can address each other and learn from those mistakes, rather than brush them aside. That starts with trust between colleagues.
We regularly discuss patient cases with the whole team. That keeps our clinical reasoning aligned and keeps us asking each other the right questions.
Every week we set aside time to teach each other about a specific topic. One person goes deep, the rest learns along.
Every month we discuss a topic during our study hours. We summarise the key learning moment of that month below. Browse previous months to read along.
If progress stalls, repeat a few of the baseline tests. Sometimes there is a decline in endurance, coordination or stability on items that were previously passed. Two weeks back to basics can then make a big difference for further progress.
Well-executed strength training, where you gradually take exercises through a larger range of motion, improves mobility alongside strength, as long as the technique stays clean. Adding tempo to the repetitions has an extra effect: the longer you spend in the deep or new position, the better it works.
With recurring complaints or injuries we often look straight at the load, but recovery is just as decisive. Someone who trains more but keeps eating the same amount uses more energy without adjusting intake, which still creates a deficit. Work pressure and sleep quality also belong in this assessment as standard.
With plantar fasciitis it pays to also include the flexor hallucis longus and big toe mobility in the assessment. If this area is too stiff, the load on the plantar fascia may increase, which can hinder recovery.
The menstrual cycle is not an obstacle to recovery or performance, but a part of it. Although research with female participants is still limited, there is growing attention for the cycle during sport. The cycle can influence sports performance both positively and negatively. Start this conversation in the treatment room, so that both the person and the therapist become aware of it.
At MBT the quality of care comes first, but it can happen that you are not satisfied with something. We would like to hear about it, so we can solve it together and keep improving our care. MBT is a member of the Complaints Procedure and the Disputes Committee for Physiotherapy of the Dutch Royal Society for Physical Therapy (KNGF), and all our therapists are BIG-registered and bound by the Professional Code of Conduct for the Physiotherapist.
On the separate complaints page you will find exactly which steps you can take and how our code of conduct is structured.

Cedrine helped me enormously with the recovery of recurring knee complaints. Within a few months the strength difference between both legs was minimal.
I've been helped tremendously by multiple members of the team for various issues over the course of about a year now. Not all team members have been my PT, but I have met them all and they are all great.
